The screen on our GBA SP is very dark all the time. It does not change if you push the little button near the top of the gamepad portion of the game. How can we fix this?

  My son and I are trying to trade pokemon using our gameboy advance sp and both of us have the same kind of wireless adaptors...im trading from Ruby and my son from Sapphire. All we get is a "Please wait." and underneath a "... ... B Button: Cancel". Help!
