In the U.S., at least, more of your guests are likely to be able to attend on a Sunday than if you held the shower on a different day. I have been to showers on other days also, but Sunday wins hands down for the most popular day. So, it seems to be more a practical choice than a traditional one. There are also lots of books on bridal showers and wedding planning available for free at your local public library that cover both shower and party planning. I know that those library books sure made my life easier when my daughter married last year. Hope you enjoy the wedding festivities! I think it is because people need an excuse to get out of going to church. As far as I have experienced, they are usually on a Saturday. I went to a baby shower on Sunday and I wish they let us have the brunch that was going on downstairs instead of just ordering from a menu.
