  • An overactive thyroid may cause you to have a very fast metabolism. I suggest you first see an endocrinologist to rule this out. A high carb diet will give you plenty of calories to burn and help you maintain your weight. Yoga and meditation may also slow down your metabolism. Also, get plenty of sleep.
  • You need to pack up your fast metabolism and mail it to me. Upon reciept I will mail my ridiculously slow metabolism to you.. easy to install and you will be stacking on the weight quick as you can say 'apple pie'.

  • I had the same problem, and still do to a degree. No matter what I ate, or how much of it, I could not gain weight. My doctor told me to eat several small meals a day instead of the usual three. It didn't help me at all, but it may work for you.
  • well im a hard gainer...so i eat alot and take a weight gainer, so far so good..try a high protein and carb diet. and eat eat eat...try a weight gainer that should help as well...

  • Work out, and drink a meal shake (like slim fast) WITH your meals. The added calories will help you put on the pounds the work outs will keep the pounds from being fat. I had this problem. I was 96 lbs and I'm 5'7". So not cool. I'm back up to 140 which is much more comfortable for my body type. No more dizzy spells.
  • blah blah blah hyperactive thyroid... if you are taking in 2500calories a day you shouldn't be losing weight increase your appetite, go exercise, you will be a lot hungrier if you think it is your thyroid then have more caffeine to slow it down really to know this answer you need to post your diet
  • Use a calorie counter to track your food and make sure you eat 500 more calories per day than what you're burning. You should gain 1-2 lbs. per week. Good luck!
