Ps2? I will assume Play Station 2 which unless the technology has changed recently uses a DVD/CD type of laser disk.

to clean all of those kinds of disks a soft dry cloth usually works best. I take old white t-shirts (very soft material) and cut those up as rags and use that material to whip disks.

A wiping will remove most fingerprints, all of the dust.

If something like soda, milk, has been splatter/spilled on a disk then you need to wipe immediately. If the stuff dries then moisten a rag with water and use that to carefully wipe away the material. In some cases you might have a thicker mess to clean in that case a dampish-wet rag laid over the spill and allowed to sit for a minute or two will wet the grime enough to allow you to wipe away the material.

Mind the big problem with "cleaning" a disk is not being able to get stuff off but being able to refrain from scratching the surface. So using a soft rag (like t-shirt material) in conjunction with plain water (chemicals can micropit the plastic) will be all you should need. that and a through drying.

Use a smooth cloth, nothing with lint and the like, because it can scratch it. Begin from the inside of the disc where the small hole is and go in a straight line outwards, don't make little circular motions, and don't start from outer edge to the inner middle. If you're going to wet the cloth to get something other than dust out, go over it several times in the fashion mentioned above. Avoid cleaning products, as those contain hazardous ingredients which can mess up the disc.

Of course, keeping the disc inside the console or in its game case on a shelf somewhere and away from food and drink which could undergo spillage is always a good idea. :/

Also, random, don't expose your disc to sunlight, and don't use it as a coaster. They don't cost ten cents to make for nothing.

Spray some Windex or other window cleaner on the disc, and lightly wipe the disc with a tissue, if that isn't clear enough then just clean it the same way you clean a window.
