If I add my husband to my bank account, can his ex-wife or the government have access to that money if he were to not pay his child support?

    Women should always keep their assets separate, whether he's on an order or not. At any time, he could get hit with a retroactive child support order on a child he never knew exited, and your assets are forfeit.

    Yes it is possible. I've been there. It's considered his money too so if there is a legal problem it will affect you both if your money is together. It is also possible for them to get yours even if he's not on the account as long as your married but that rarely happens. It depends on the judge.
