I have bronze-colored algae growing in my tank - I was told it was dead algae. Is this true, and how do I get rid of it?

    I don't know if you mean brown or bronze, but from what I found it may be due to lack of light. Here is some info on other types of algae that may be of use to you. I hope this helps.. http://faq.thekrib.com/algae.html#brown
