Help answer this question below.
My honest belief is that anyone who does as you described to a child is not really human, but some horrible abberation in the gene pool. I am very glad that I CANNOT 'understand' them as I would hate to think I could have anything in common with the thought-process that manifests itself in such a manner...
I have read many books on this subject and find a good percentage of serial killers, child abusers, sexual deviants tend to come from extremely dysfunctional families. A book I read recently on sexual serial killers showing their backgrounds, showed many of them come from highly religious parents where spare the rod spoil the child is taken to the extreme. There can often also be sexual abuse from one or both parents. Somewhere along the way through their childhood their ability to sympathise and empathise with other human beings is lost and their world revolves around themselves, their needs and wants. Many will kill women in substitution for killing their mothers who abused them or didn't protect them when young. Many will kill men in substitution for their fathers who again abused or failed to protect them. I don't beleive babies are born evil.
I do not think people become evil, I think they are born evil.
Some people have no conscience. They can do things without feeling remourse
I have no idea. I don't think like that and it is totally beyond my comprehension.
I could write a book but society hasn't learned it's lesson doomed to repeat it ove and over. Anyone that would rape and murder has earned his exit, let the demons judge him. Care to see how many near your children. my answer take them to town square and put a bullet in their head the child you save maybe you're own. That's two barbaric for some, They give them a second chance How many children do they get to destroy before they are stopped for good. Good thing my kids were never molested I would put the bullet there myself.

Do you know where your chrildren are?
Demon possession
There is something seriously wrong with their minds
I dont know why some people do these things. But I do feel that it is becoming more and more rampant because people seem to be more desensitised to the evils around. the sence of community and looking after one another is gone. No one wants to get involved....it is sad. A friend of mine was attacked in daylight while people walked by and did nothing to help. She was 17. I have a beutiful blond 8 year old daughter...I worry. Look out for each other!
I believe it is Demon possession. What else would influence such hatred of PURE decent?
I think some people are born with a biological predisposition for evil and then that predisposition can turn into real evil if society, family, etc treats them a certain way. For example, while it is true that most people would not massacre 32 innocent people (like Hui Cho did) because he was bullied….If Hui Cho had loving, supportive family, friends, and a girlfriend, I’m almost certain that incident would not have occurred.
On the other had, people like Jeffery Dhamar probably could not have been stopped no matter what. His actions were so heinous/abnormal/sick that I don’t think societal/family abuse, condemnation, or isolation could possibly have lead him to do what he did. I think he was simply born that way.
Some type of a mental problem, They should be locked up untill they are safe. If not ever, then so be it.
I have several assumptions. Maybe they're afraid to die, they realize that death and suffering are inevitable, and that's their revenge on God. You are God for me, you decide when I live or die? Well, with this little kid I'd take your role. Or after a lifetime of being loners, unnoticed and despised, they want to be finally in the spotlight. Then they're avenging their social failure and exclusion, which, though not necessary evident, is usually present in such cases. From early childhood they were either taught to be evil, or taught to be good, but in the worst possible way - by pressure. There were so many rules that a moment came when they had to be broken.
Other reason is madness. My Dad is bipolar and, most probably, so am I. I know how it feels to be in a fit of uncontrollable rage: you don't have to be evil to destroy absolutely everything around. You're delusional and think that other wronged you unforgivably, even if they simply suggested you to recharge your phone. But it isn't madness, and I can only imagine what happens in the mind of people with real mental problems.
No idea what causes it, probably a mixture of predisposition towards the behavior to begin with due to genetics or mental illness and perhaps some outside influences. The same question could be asked of what creates people such as Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pol Pot, and other power-mad murderers?
In any event, get rid of them, they have proven they have nothing productive to offer anyone else and are a danger to their fellow man.
They were probably mentally sick from the very beginning. +2
You might even say these people are childish; with the same fear, selfishness, and insolence of a child. the bad part is that they are adult size.
They are genetic throwbacks who have never evolved. cure? get rid of them!
I'll never understand nor do I want to.
Isn't it convenient for those who say they cannot understand such "evil" behavior as exhibited by one who rapes and murders a child and that it must be some sort of aberration in the gene pool that they can distance themselves from such evil and continue to believe themselves to be good because they have not done this particular form of evil? Blaming, scapegoating and comparing one form of "evil" to a more horrendous form that causes ones specific form of evil to seem not so evil is one way that humans use to numb themselves psychically so as not to have to deal with the specific form of "evil" that is their challenge in life. All humans have a capacity for evil and perform evil acts at some time or another and if placed in certain adverse or desperate situations would likely commit whatever "evil" was called for to ensure survival. Yes, it is totally wonderful that you have no understanding of an individual who would rape and murder a child, neither do most people, but doesn't it put your own evil a little further from you when you can distance yourself from such an obvious form of evil? You still have to face your own personal demons and Christ told us not to judge others so relax you don't have to answer for the acts of child molesters just for your own evil acts.

because there are some evil sick b******s out there who dont even deserve to breathe.
I am surprised noone has brought up the separation between our constructs of good and evil.
What is good?
What is evil?
What many of us believe is that good is the following of the moral laws set by society. Evil is the opposite.
But how can we be so naive? What if someones values are manipulated by their society? What if different societies have different views? How do we know who is right?
I look to the animals. They do not know such things as morality and corruption, good and evil. But what makes me right?
simply the people who do these things are just evil, inhuman and a descrase to human kind. The only thing that could ever repair the souls of these people is death. It is all I could offer these people, they are disgusting scum and should e ashamed of themselves. For every breath of there pathetic lives the should feel nothing but loathing from other people and them selves
Just as there are reproductive advantages to being a good parent there are sometimes advantages to being evil. A common event in both animal and human societies is when a new alpha male takes over a group. The first thing he does is kill all the children. That way the females will be receptive to him. This will improve his personal reproductive fitness, even though the group as a whole suffers. An evil stepfather might have the same motivation. Fortunately we have a system that punishes those who do this. Or at least we used to.
Nobody is born evil.It is feebly dependent on our social surroundings but it depends on our own perception of real world situations .For example,if we find someone stealing a thing from a grocery shop ,it is our own perception whether we think it to be right or wrong. If we will think it wrong we would never try to imitate the act and vice-versa.Our perception too is a result of our conscience and "set of rules" we have made in our mind.
for those of you parent's who have heard of the "Amber Alert", i live in the town that started that....Amber Hagerman, 9 years old back in 1996 got abducted and raped and murdered from here in Arlington, TX.....sexual crimes against children should lead to execution...even if they don't die....maybe that would stop all of these monster's from doing this........Brian.......
The action of evil may not be the fault of the will of the committing the crime. I've spent alot of time thinking out this question myself and have found the the actions of an evil person are often the effects of there brrai that the physical effect that it has on there bodies. Scietists have breed fruit flies to fight that are thirty time more aggressive than normal ones. The fighting flies had a genetic difference in there brain that caused them to be violent. This gene can also be found in humans which prevents them from the noraml thought process and they do what the defect in their brain tells them is natural or the correct response in that situation

You're reading What causes some people to become so evil? For example, how/why could any human being violently rape or brutally murder a child?

Well I am sorry to say that you do have something in common, as they ARE human. Don't just create some lame excuse (not really human, but some horrible abberation in the gene pool) because you don't have a better explanation. I'm sorry to say, wait, no I'm not, that people who do that are human JUST LIKE YOU. I find it stupid that this childish and ignorant answer is #1.
