Why the public fascination of people with movies about horrible things? ie 9/11, wars, sexual abuse, etc? Is it just curiousity..or a desire for knowledge? Personally I find them atrocious...I know what happened. I don't expect to be entertained by it.

i think some people find this stuff to be entertaining... personally, i think it is tasteless and vulgar and don't want to re-live the horror i would not plunk down a dime to view motion pictures like that.

Some people have a really warped sense of what's considered entertaining. Or anything else that's artistic for that matter. I agree with you.

Maybe in a small way to see what it's like in someone else's shoes for awhile. For example, watching a movie about a girl who got raped would be interesting to me because I would get a better feel of what people (who have been raped) have to deal with and how it changes everything. Idk, just a thought.

I feel the same way. Read a history book. That said, I did go to a movie today .. "Halloween" remake. It was more a realization that mental health is still misunderstood by the masses.
