In theory it is possible - and came unusually close last time. More likely is that everyone took a lazy ass opinion and did not bother to vote we would not have a valid democracy where the laws and policies adopted were supported by the common man. That would be a very bad situation. Please go vote and take it seriously

If you dont vote we will get morons running the country (as we have now) and also the pork factor where a few irrelevant senators get funding for their pet projects - we end up paying billions of dollars to fund the rebuidling of the (unused) covered bridge or the recration center in an township that has 43 users) at a cost of 17 million dollars, while our ability to compete in the global economy spirals down the pan and our global trade deficit broadens further from its already terrifying levels. PLease vote

Normally the congressmen for your district will vote according to the votes of their territory... it's a job security thing for them. If they want to get re-elected, they have to keep their voters happy. Or try to anyway. LOL Besides, the general consensus is that if you don't vote, then you don't have the right to complain. Hehehe

Your collective voting block is strengthened by greater numbers.

yea but if you dont vote then you dont have the right to say anything

One vote will really count if the government gets rid of the electoral vote. Then each vote counted will count. When electoral votes are needed then democracy is out the door.
-
Yes, your vote does count. If hundreds of thousands of like minded people vote the same way, all of those individual votes add up. If hundreds of thousands of like minded people choose not to vote (which they frequently do), then their opinions aren't registered and we only have the the opinons of the people who bother to take the few minutes required to do so. In a two way election it takes 50% +1 to win, not 51%.
