  • What age is she?
  • This could be a number of things. It could be a simple fatty tumor, that isn't life threatening, but COULD cause uncomfortable pressure on the eye. It could be a cancerous tumor. It could be something that has gotten under the dog's skin; such as a sticker or burr that is now infected and needs to be removed and treated before it not only causes more pain, but affects the dog's eye. It could be a tick or other insect that has taken up residency and maybe causing infection as well. If the dog has an infection brewing here, it must be treated because while the infection is STARTING in the one spot, it will affect the entire dog if it becomes a generalized infection...it will poison the dog, and can affect not only the eyes, but the heart, kidneys, liver. Here is one vet service I found on line, hopefully they are still in business. One way or the other in order to properly say what this IS and treat it correctly THE DOG HAS TO BE SEEN BY A QUALIFIED VET..You may need to call around and make a road trip, if you are interested in doing right by this dog. The lump needs to be seen, it may need a needle biopsy to determine what it is...we can't do that on line!
