Absolutely. Does it have to? Nope. The usual types of injury are torn tissue, strained muscles, and infection, and you can prevent those by applying some basic care and attention. First, do not have anal sex without using a lubricant. Ever. Unlike vaginas and mouths, anuses are not self-lubricating, which means it's very easy for the tissue inside to tear if it's not kept wet enough. That's both painful and dangerous. Don't "make do" with something not intended as lube, and don't skimp on it. (Remember, water-based lube only if you're using a condom . . . which is also a good idea for hygenic reasons.) Second, take it slow, especially when the anus in question is not used to being penetrated. There are involuntary muscles inside which have to relax in order for anal sex to not be painful, and that can take time. Be patient, and more importantly, be willing to stop if it's not going well. Healthy fun to you.

Does it make the anus stay stretched?
-
Well no it does not make your anus stretch permanently, it will soon go back to it's natural size. You can get damaged by having anal sex but only if you're not careful. The tissue in your anus is very delicate so it's best not to be too rough. Using lubrication should the penis enter easier and the use of condoms can always help with this. If it's your first time, its best that the person you are doing this with is very gentle. Sometimes it can make you bleed so make sure that you are careful. I hope this helped you

The anus is a set of muscles which can be stretched beyond tolerance. This is unusual. Think of the dimensions of what comes out in the usual use of the anus and compare with a penis Both have broadly similar girth. However, using objects of greater diameter than a turd or normal penis will cause the anal sphinctres to stretch in order to accommodate them. The rectal walls are fragile, but a penis is a blunt object, and, despite porn films with amazingly hung porn stars (where would you PUT that thing?), is not usually long enough to cause damage by pressing too hard on the "right angle bend" just under a penis length inside. Just use common sense. And loads of lube. And have fun.
