Yes, because despite the small size of New Hampshire (and Iowa), the results of its primary tends to be magnified by its early position in the nominating race.
Also, my understanding is that New Hampshire tends to have a higher percentage of Independent voters than many other states. Thus, the New Hampshire results gives an indication of how other voters elsewhere without strong party affiliations might vote.
