  • contact them and allow them the ease way out of not returning the gesture if they don't want...
  • contact them and say exactly what you just told us - you aren't sure they want to hear from you, but just in case, here is how to get in touch and leave the ball in their court, so to speak. Email is great for this if it can be accomplished!! If not, then a funny card with a short note if appropriate.
  • It depends if they were someone aI was close with and just lost touch then I would contact them knowing they would probably be happy to hear from me. If they were someone who was nothing more than a casual aquaintance then I would probably just leave it alone
  • You definitely contact them. An email from you is not going to turn their life upside down, whether they want it or not. If they do want it--great--a new friend, old times to talk about and so forth. If they don't want the contact, they don't have to reply. Make sure that you put the name they used to know you in the subject line. If they don't recognize your screen name they may just delete without reading, or it may disappear into SPAM. Hope they are looking forward to re-establishing contact..
  • I would, I've got in contact with a couple people I've lost contact with & I'm so glad I took the chance. Just tonight I was contacted by someone who was my neighbor 18 years ago when we were in high school. He graduated & joined the army, it was great seeing what he looked like after all these years. Unless you left on bad terms then I'd leave it alone but hey you only live once so I say go for it.
