It depends on who's telling it. If its my kids a good story because you know they are lying out their back teeth but its so entertaining. From adults the truth because there is nothing worse than being lied too.

The truth. Knowing the truth frees your mind up to deal with the facts. You don't waste energy sifting through the pretty verse. I prefer plain old prose.

It depends. Some people tell you a good story to your face when you obviously know they are lying. It tends to be somewhat funny because you know they are just making something up. However, it is definitely nice to hear the truth come out of peoples' mouths.

Well i think that the story can bring you peace to a certain degree but the truth its always more comforting, even if it hurts form time to time.

The truth. It just works better for everbody. Just think of what it would be like if doctors would rather tell you a good story than the truth. Yeah....
