Question

Help answer this question below.

I noticed all the high school students waiting for the school bus this morning all listening to Ipods. They all were in their own worlds. Is that the way it is in most US communities?

No, kids don't always act like that. Not the ones I know. Most of them are actually so social, it would make you sick.

plz, wait until you get to college. Everyone has an ipod and listens to it on the way to class and in school and etc. The internet is also a way to mind numb.
We tend to be an individualistic community.

It is not unusual, but I wouldn't say most. Kids these days have a tendency to isolate themselves because that is what we teach them. We are raising another ME generation, but this one is equipped to isolate themselves using tecnology (be it ipods, handheld games, cell phones, etc.).

Don't blame the kids..they are just modeling their parents who blazed a trail in being isolated..by cell phones, ear phones to listen to music, ipods..whatever..the kids think it is the way life is supposed to be..the parents didn't teach them anything else. Parents are in their own world with their toys..their kids are in their own world with their toys..who in the heck is minding the store? :(

    I love my baby

I think so... My daughter was trying to listen to hers 90 % of the time she is awake. I have put a big limit on it, when she is around any company the things come out of the ears!

Nahh. I read somewhere that adolescense is a time where your dreams outweigh your confidence. Maybe people are just afraid to open up to other people?

Cellphones don't help either, I think. But it's not just kids.
It seems that a lot of people would rather look down at a screen
    than up at a person.

It's not a bad or a good thing,
but sometimes there's people that seem to be too busy to be friendly.
I think it's sad more than anything.
