  • Are you out of breath when you get this pain? It could be your diaphragm. Or just gas..
  • I'm no doctor but it could be a stitch, or even indegestion. If the pain persists I would recommend visiting your GP.
  • I have the same thing right now, it hurts more when I move certain ways, like bend over or take a deep breath. I can only lie on my back to sleep because of it. It comes and goes, and is a sharp pain. Ive been looking up what it may be, and if its serious it can be a large number of things and needs a doctor, but if we are lucky it may be constipation. I am recovering from Pancreatitus right now and the pain medication I am on causes constipation, and the pain did seem to go away for a while when I had a successful BM, so if you havent gone for a while, take a laxative and see if that helps. Otherwise, if it doesnt help, go to the doctor as now the list of what it could be is larger and more serious.
  • i also have this pain right now...my best friend is a physical therapist. she said ur kidneys are there and it can be very serious! its lasted about 3-4 weeks for me now. i havent gone to the DR yet but plan to! for me, it hurts wen i take a deep breath, move a certain way, lay down or wen it is touched more on the soft side, but it helps wen i apply pressure on it. i walk around alot with my hand on it, so ppl prolly think im a bitch or something, walkin around with my hand on my hip all the time LOL hope its nothing too bad! good luck to u!
  • diverticulitis. read my comment on answer three. sorry, i posted in the wrong spot.
  • I also get this pain just under my left rib, which feels like a stitch but can be uncomfortable and sore to touch. I went to the doctors a couple of months back when i was suffering from what turned out to be bad indegestion, when i mentioned this pain my doctor explained that because of my current diet (lots of fatty food, alcohol etc)my pancreas was working over time and had become inflamed allowing more acids to build up in my system, this explained the pain and the indegestion as it all occurred at the time i moved in with my boyf and my diet changed rather unhealthily!! My advice would be to try cut out booze & fatty food, drink plenty of water and it never hurts to go to the doctors for a check up!
