If you get married in a Unitarian church, it's legal, right? I know that's sort of a weird question, but they do commitment ceremonies and that sort of thing, so I didn't know if the U.S. government acknowledged actual marriages done there or not.

you should have listed the principles 1thur 7. instead of refering to another website. I went there and it wasn't too clear. Do you even know what UUism is really about. Make yourself clear.

Sorry, I thought the site was perfectly clear. Chalk it up to my bias :D. The Seven Principles are as follows. [We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote: The inherent worth and dignity of every person; Justice, equity and compassion in human relations; Acceptance of one another and encouragement to free spiritual growth in our congregations; A free and responsible search for truth and meaning; The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large; The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all; Respect for the interdependent web of existance of which we are all a part.] My religious background is UU from birth: perhaps that was my failing in answering this question. In any case, I apologize, and hope that I have rectified the issue.
