It basically means to "fire your hips" through the ball or to "turn your hips" aggressively and early on as the pitch is coming in to the hitting zone. If solid contact is made, this will usually result in a "pulled" ball with significant power behind it.
They are both right.
Turning on the pitch in simplest form is just pulling the ball.
To do so, you turn your hips a lot earlier than you normally would and then your hands follow meeting the ball ahead of the plate causing it to be pulled down the line.
when the ball is thrown inside and the batter swings around fast enough to hit it into the outfeild,usually ending in a homerun.
"tyler pitched him inside and wills turned on it,depositing that one in the upper deck".
Pretty much just means to get ahead of the ball, to pull the ball.
In the home run derby do they measure the speed of the ball on a homerun
