Help answer this question below.
Yes, Sir/Ma'am. I'm sorry, Sir/Ma'am. Won't happen again, Sir/Ma'am.
When i stop a speeder, the first words i say, address this situation, straight out.
"Sir, may i see your drivers license, please? i observed you speeding 85 mph in a 45 mph zone".
I consider this to be a proper greeting and it states the reason for the stop. it seems to have worked for 41 years, without a problem.
If you're a girl, start crying! Well, if your officer is a guy anyways.
My mom got out of a ticket by doing that, so I know first hand.
That is if you want to get out of a ticket :D
I don't really know if there is a right answer to that question officers ask, it seems like a double ended sword...either way, you're screwed.
Personally, I am too busy watching the road to do more than guess my speed. I am tall enough that the speedometer is WELL below my line of vision.
Yes I did and I am extremely sorry.......once he said dont do it again to my mom and she got off the hook!
The right answer is whatever is true. It's been my experience that they appreciate it(and are more lenient) when you tell them the truth.
I'd be honest. You could say I thought I was going a bit fast but no sir/mam, I have no idea how fast that was.
A friend of mine was driving ridiculously fast once and got pulled over, the cop kept asking him that question...because he didn't know. He hadn't clocked him he'd just seen him flying down the freeway and pulled him over. Since the cop didn't know the speed and my friend played dumb, he didn't get a ticket.
well, that depends on what you want to happen. if you are trying to avoid a ticket and the cop didn't actually get you with his radar gun, but you admit guilt, you just screwed yourself.
now, it does seem to help if you are somewhat real with the officer, but there's no reason to incriminate yourself voluntarily.
"Last time I looked, it was..." and answer truthfully. I never intentionally speed but unless cruise control is engaged it does fluctuate.
I would just say "I thought I going going within the speed limit officer" and leave it at that

I would avoid the bribery part ( I don't find the thought of prison appealing), but it might not hurt to give the compliment!

I was going to suggest offering sexual favours but perhaps this is not such a good idea.

If you go to prison, there will be many opportunities!

And diseases, and gangs, and really bad food. I'll never speed again. I've really got the willies now!

Ah-ha - I think I have just found the one & only benefit of a speed camera.
