I wouldn't mind the negative ratings, but it would be nice for the person to comment on me when they disagree from what I'm saying. I've been attacked from time to time before. I know that one time or another, I would see this happen. I would probably think that a critical rebuttal of a question or answer would be the worst for me. If stated on an answer, then it does not help me in any way, whether my question was thought-provoking, or just something serious. If stated on a comment, it still doesn't give any helpful advice or information that pertrains to my answer.

A down rating with no comment. It happens all the time and makes no sense.

I guess a down rate with no comment just because somebody disagrees with your opinion. For example there was a question like 'What is the best love song ever?' --I got multiple down ratings because I guess somebody didn't like the same song I did. I dunno...in the end it really doesn't matter.

I think, with NO comment and a DR... If they are too cowardly to argue their point they are pond-life...

An answer to a question about myself accusing me, whilst downrating me, then continuously negging me, whilst ruining my rep with the excuse of being a troll....yes that upsets me!

Well none of the down-rating options bother me -- long ago I turned off the "show ratings" checkbox, because they clutter up the profile and make it harder to find new comments (which is what I'm actually interested in). So I don't normally know if I've been rated down -- I just see the total points when viewing the comments. But some comments do bother me... if it seems that my answer was misunderstood in particular, or if there's a personal attack in the comment. These aren't all that common, but it does happen.

I generally am unaware of down-rates as I keep that box un-checked in my profile. I only see a DR (generally) if it happens and someone else comments on it. I would be upset if someone wrote some harsh comments to me, as I try to be helpful and I would be sad if I were mis-understood. I don't mind a comment letting me know I was wrong, as it happens, I just prefer people to be polite :)

A downrate with no comment. If someone leaves a harsh comment, then I can blow the guy off for being ignorant, or at least comment back with an explanation if he isn't. But I really don't like to get downrated out of spite. I just had a guy downrate a question I answered awhile ago because he disliked that I agreed to a comment on his recent question.

I've stopped bothering. I have my opinions and they are often diametrically opposed to other peoples'. If I was bothered I'd just stay out of controversial threads, but where would be the fun in that?
