Depends on what kind of liquor it is. High alcohol percentage alcohol will last a very very long time (35-40% spirits). Medium content (like wines) will last a number of years (depends exactly on the wine, reds last longer than whites) but the flavour may alter or change to be less palatable over this time. Low alcohol content would have the same shelf-life as a soft drink. EDIT This question has been edited since I answered it, which drastically alters the usefulness of my answer. The question did not pertain to open containers when first asked. Thus, new answer would relate to oxidation in relation to wines (which won't last more than a week when open). Spirits will still keep for a long time due to their high alcohol content. You would need to be more specific about the particular alcohol for a more exact answer.
