Why do women wear bra's is it for Society or the public to look good for others or for personal comfort or Vanity to look a certain way in shirts and tops? If you dont wear a bra in public how will people react and would you care what they thought?

I must say, the bet reason to wear a bra is the support. It keeps them from sagging sooner, and I'd like to keep it that way for a long while yet. Sure they are made to look good now, but their purpose of support is still there. It's better for you to wear a bra. Okay, I think if you have a really small chest this is a bit different though, but definitely larger Bs and up would be better off wearing a bra in my opinion. If you don't want to, I won't judge you. It's your comfort.

Well imagine carrying water melons on your chest all day, i think you'd want some scaffolding of some sort for support, also big boobs with no bra..looks nasty especially if they are john wayne saddle bags! I dont have much and must admit i hate wearing bras, i have been out on many occasions without a bra...just get a bit paranoid when its cold...i look like i'm smuggling peanuts...! :)

Questions about whether something is internally motivated or socially motivated are very difficult to answer, because so much of an individual comes from the society they happen to have grown up in. I mean, I wear a bra because I just ... always assumed I would ... and it seemed like a good idea, when I started. But it wouldn't have seemed like a good idea, or even a possibility, if I had been in a society where bras aren't worn. I wouldn't stop wearing them, though. If I had to become a partial nudist tomorrow, bras would be the last article of clothing I would choose to keep. I find it very uncomfortable without them :)

I'm a guy, but I think it depends on the size. A woman with very large and heavy breasts would actually need them for support. A woman with small breasts, IMO, is simply going along with the crowds. I personally find untethered breasts far more attractive in the way they move under the clothes, but if they're big I can totally understand that comfort comes first.

I do if the shirt is loose. cuz it makes the boobs look all pointy and weird, but if its a tight shirt...I dont wear one. Unless its seethrough, lol. They look fine without one, infact...very nice. BUT...I hate bra's, its just an un needed piece of clothing. If it wasnt socially needed, or whatever...I wouldnt ever wear one, nor a shirt at that...but...people stop, star, and point..and talk about it...mostly women, only cuz...they do, I guess. Whatever. I dont do it to show them off, I just do it..cuz why not?

If you have a small chest like an A in a loose shirt, noone would really know.. but if people can tell your not wearing a bra.. or can see your nips through your shirt.. you may find people think you are not lady like.. so I believe a bra is for support and for modesty..

I don't wear a bra when I'm just lounging around home but I always wear one when I go out. I just like how bras offer support and give boobs a nicer shape. Plus I get my bras from Victoria's Secret and they're extremely comfortable. So my boobs look good and feel good. Win-win.

I personally wear them for support and comfort. There are times of them month when they get so sensitive, if I weren't wearing a bra, I'd be saying "Ow..Ow..Ow..." all day. There are some girls that get away without wearing a bra, but others that just can't do it without them hanging down due to time and gravity. I go without a bra if I'm at home or run out quickly to the grocery store.

Well I dont wear bras alot. I believe it more society then anything. I have a friend who have a D cups who never wore one and her breast are just as perky and well shape. My sisters dont wear them much either and even my mom dont wear them alot and my parent never force them to wear either. Most people cant even tell I am not wearing one.

i normally dont wear bras, unless im in a professional setting and i am wearing a top with delicate or sheer material, or if im running ~ i find the jiggling uncomfortable sometimes. i find bras very constricting, irritating and it cramps my style. it also impedes normal lymphatic system functioning ~ restricting blood & lymphatic flow around the breasts ~ these constrictions are not good for ones health. my health and comfort are more important than anybody elses opinion of how i look in a certain article of clothing ~ if it bothers them, they shouldnt be staring at my chest. now there are women who do need to wear bras because their breasts are large and they need them for support. others do it for aesthetic purposes ~ to enhance their cleavage when they wear certain clothing or for their partners. if done for purely aesthetic purposes ~ sure ~ theyve been influenced by society and media. but arent we all to a certain degree? i dont begrudge anyone wearing clothing that makes them feel beautiful. who knows ~ maybe they even like the feel of the bra? to each their own.

I prefer to wear a bra in private, as well as in public for the comfort. I am size 44 DD and I am uncomfortable without a bra.

I dont wear bras accept for special occasion. I taught it was more social. My parents gave my sisters and I a choice to wear them. Most of them are like me only wear them on special occasion but rest of time are bra less or wear shirts with them built in. Sometimes with certain shirt we get some strange looks but most of the time people dont even notice. I look at myself with I wear certain top to make I am not showing too much.

Women may wear bras for any of these reasons: For comfort To look good To not have their nipples poke through or because the shirt irritates them To not be called a "slut" or some other derogatory name used by people who find women somehow offensive To not have their breasts stared at They may not wear bras because: It feels more comfortable It feels less confining They don't care They find it exciting (hah, it rhymes!)
