If you want to see it that way . Jesus had many God given powers and used those powers to perform many miracles such as raising the dead and curing the blind. He did this all because of his great love for mankind and not to be thought of as a super hero.
-
No. None. Zilch. Nada.
-
If I could change my tap water to wine I would consider myself on the way.
-
I would say uh...no.
-
well... anybody who can make wine is SUPER in my book! (regardless of the methods used)
-
yeah, he is just like superman but without the cape. seriously, i don't know why but this question is cracking me up.
-
I think if he'd had a super power, he would have been able to solve that "dying on the cross" problem.
-
Yes, for sure, we're still talking about him after 2000 years!
-
Sure, so did Batman, Godzilla, Superman, The Hulk, and Bewitched. You can make up any story you like, it's all fiction, including Jesus whole story.
-
In my opinion, your question is using the wrong verb tense. It shoud read "Does Jesus have super powers?" and Jesus, as the Son of God, does, indeed, have supernatural powers.
-
Well… healing the blind, deaf, mute and dumb, raising the dead, even elements like, wind and waves obey Him. Angels bow down before Him. Scripture speaks of Him as a, “maker of all things that exists.” Speaking things into an existence, things that do not exist as though they are… He rose on the third day after being crucified. In what category would you put His powers?
-
Sure did...He said in Matthew 28 All power in heaven and in earth is given to me. ... That sounds like superpower to me.
-
Yes, and more. For with you great strength abides always; who can resist the might of your arm? Indeed, before you the whole universe is as a grain from a balance, or a drop of morning dew come down upon the earth. But you have mercy on all, because you can do all things; and you overlook the sins of men that they may repent. (Wisdom 11:21-23) Most Monotheists including Jews, Christians, and Muslims believe that God is omnipotent (all powerful). Christians believe that Jesus is God the Son, the second person of the Holy Trinity. God's almighty power is in no way arbitrary: "In God, power, essence, will, intellect, wisdom, and justice are all identical. Nothing therefore can be in God's power which could not be in his just will or his wise intellect." (St. Thomas Aquinas, STh I, 25, 5, ad 1) For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraphs 268 and following: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt1art1p3.htm#110 With love in Christ.

In his sway? It would have been a different story altogether if he did. No, unfortunately the super power of the day, the Romans, condemned him to death, albeit reluctantly.
-
Well, he was the son of God (also God), but in human form, but with Heavenly powers... Erm - yes, the Bible says he had super powers. (Other than the Bible, I'm not sure there is much record of his actions that would suggest super powers *shrugs*)

Yes but, and it’s a big but, they were not his they were given to him by God. He tells us that himself. For example, in Luke 11:20 he says “I WITH THE FINGER OF GOD cast out devils” The Holy Qur’an (HQ) supports Jesus when in HQ 3:49 it has him saying “Lo! I come unto you with a sign FROM YOUR LORD. Lo! I fashion for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it and it is a bird, BY GOD'S LEAVE. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead, BY GOD'S LEAVE.” In John 5:30 Jesus makes the all-embracing declaration “I can of mine own self DO NOTHING” These are all from the scriptures. The references are given, why not check them out for yourself.

There is documented proof that he studied meditation and gained powers while living in an temple in India for many years. This would account for some of the many years that wear unaccounted for in his life.He also studied in ancient Egypt an gained secret practices.

Jesus had the power to supernaturally turn water into wine for no reason other then the fact that His mother asked Him to so that the wedding party would go well. When she asked Him to do this she must have already seen what powers He had. He supernaturally multiplied fish, walked on water, predicted the future, knew mens names and hearts before talking to them, raised the dead, healed the sick and stepped onto a boat and instantly made it be on the other side of the lake. More than 2000 years later we are still talking about it. Many witnessed the events and told and retold the the wonders that they saw. What other name from centuries before our time can cause one man to tremble in awe and anothers blood to boil at the very mention of His name. If I ask someone if they believe in Santa it's a yes or no question but ask someone who does not believe in Jesus if they do and they instantly become angry and defensive (in most cases). Why would that happen if there wasnt another force operating in this world and why would another force operate here if Jesus were not the one true God?

"Superpowers (also super powers or simply powers) is another term for superhuman abilities, that is, any abilities that a human cannot possess. The term is mainly used in superhero comic books but also in other media such as cartoons. The term includes normal human abilities but at a level too great for a human to have, such as superhuman strength. It also includes abilities that might not be very impressive or useful, such as the ability to change the color of an object at will, as long as it is an act that humans cannot perform except perhaps with special equipment. " Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superpower_%28ability%29 The Bible is not a comic book and Jesus ist probably not a fictional character. But I think he had some sort of superpowers, because he was the incarnation of God.
-
no but i think he studied magic. im serious
-
no he didnt have powers well not those superhero ones. he only had powers to heal ppl and god brought the powers to him so practically NO he did not hv powers
-
Biblically speaking, no, Jesus did not *have* superpowers. He had the Holy Spirit (what/who the Old Testament called the Ruach Qadesh, the Shekinah [God's Manifest Glory], and "the Face/Presence of God") resting on him in perfect fullness. By his own testimony, it was by the power of the Holy Spirit that he did the miraculous things he did ... well, except for the so-called "nature miracles" described in Matthew, where it is not by supernatural power that he does such things, but by shear authority: the wind and the waves recognize their master and do as he commands them out of shear obedience to him. As to whether or not he actually did such things, consider these two facts: 1. every current historian of the subject (by which I mean people with PhD's in 1st & 2nd century history, intertestimental Judaism, New Testament history and criticism, or related fields) concurrs that Jesus acquired within his own lifetime a reputation as a miracle healer and wonder worker. 2. for the next 400 years after the crucifixion, pagan and Jewish apologists/critics of Christianity NEVER denied that he had done such things, but rather spent a lot of ink and parchment/papyrus (which was dear and expensive) insisting that he a) was a sorceror, b) had a demon that did these things for him, and/or c) was a demon himself. Pagan socerors for the next 3 centuries even used his name in their spells and incantations as a name of power, alongside those of pagan gods and demons. More pious (and superstitious) Pagan Romans were so superstitious about the power of his name that they never said it or wrote it, but merely referred to him by circumlocutions or euphemisms like Chrestus, "him that was crucified", and "nomen Christiananum" (the Christian name).

Being the Son of Almighty God, I would say so.
