  • The "12th night" after Christmas - or 6th January.
  • The generally accepted day is on Jan. 6th, or the Feast of the Epiphany, when the wise men visited the baby Jesus. This is also the 12th day of Christmas.

  • It varies from street to street, family to family and city to city. there is no set rule. the deciding factor would probably be small children in the home. its hard to say no, even a month later. The children would have christmas 24/7, if their parents could stand it. There is no set rule.

  • Well, when I was a kid it went up a week before Christmas and came down right after the Epiphany. But in our house, we put it up when we have an activity free weekend and take it down when we have an activity free weekend. Which usually means Thanksgiving weekend to New Years weekend. I usually like having the Christmas decos up but for some reason this year I am ready for them to come down.
  • i was always told that it was bad luck to take them down before 12th night (which i can never remember from year to year wether it is 5th or 6th of Jan) but every year i am ready to take them down by New Years Day or the 2nd anyways coz they are driving me mad and i want to get back to normality, but i daren't coz im too superstitious. would hate to think anything went wrong as i would think this was the reason. is there any other superstitious people out there that have dared to take them down before 12th night, i would love to hear from you...GV
  • we usually take them down on the 2nd jan, by then the tree is half dead, with pines just about everywhere !
