How can I restore the onscreen volume indicator from the buttons on the front of my dell laptop

    The program that does this is called Dell Quickset. Just go to http://support.dell.com Select "I'm looking for drivers" and find your model. Under the software category you'll find Quickset.

    It gives you more touchpad controls and adds the little popups when you use fn-pgup/dn for volume and when changing the brightness with fn-up/down arrows.
