I think its both. I have been told laying on your back with your hips elavated and legs up will help with conceving, but yeah its also good if your not ready to go get cleaned up.

It is an old wives tale.
The inside of a vagina isn't some hollow cave where sperm are free falling towards your egg.
It is a tight, acidic, cramped, and dangerous place for a sperm to be. They have tails for a reason and must swim through the super thin layers of fluids between the flesh of the vaginal walls.
No amount of lying on your back or standing on your head is going to make that trip any easier on the little guys.

Both. Laying with your hips elevated does keep the semen in your body longer, which might give sperm a better chance to get to the egg. That's common sense.
If it works, then wouldn't it also be a medical reason?
Ladies, have you ever wondered why we can't be like hens and lay eggs and sit on them til our children hatch?

You're reading My brother insists there's a medical reason that lying on your back with your legs in the air after sex increases the chance of pregnancy.I say it's just common sense as it stops the semen running back out and there's nothing medical about it.Who's right?
