  • here (in utah) we seem to have a shortage of people willing to work at fast food restaurants, so they will pretty much hire anyone to work at the drive through. I went to a Taco Bell the other day (the only car in the drive-thru and only one person in the dining room) and sat in my car for 20 minutes. I actually fell asleep. They gave my my order and I was driving away when I realized I should check it, so I did. Nothing was right, so I went back and had to wait another 15 minutes for the food, which wasn't even for me. The sad thing is they had about 6 people staffing the place, and they couldn't get it right. I also went to wendy's a while ago and the person at the drive thru was mumbling in between chewing her gum. It took me about 10 times to convey my order to her. I guess its a good thing I don't eat fast food that often. ^,^
  • I'd expect that at a fast food place (which is why they dumb it down to the point where they have pictures of the food on the buttons). But at a place like Home Depot I'd expect more. I suppose this is a good argument for the self-check-out things I'm seeing more and more (including at my local Home Depot).
  • Today at wallmart, at the self checkout. Do I need to go on?
  • It always amazes me.. I'm at the register and the total comes to $14.01.. so I hand the cashier a $20 bill and after they ring it in I find a penny.. and they can't figure out how much change to make because of the extra cent.. Or once, my dad went to McDonald's and ordered half a dozen of chicken nuggets... and the woman at the counter tells him that she can't do that because they only sell them in packages of 6, 9, or 20.

  • I have never had bad experiences with the cashiers at The Home Depot. Only yesterday which was a small thing, the male cashier gave me this up and down look like I didn't deserve to be there it was racially motivated look so. The store and it's associates has issues with that,so... bad experiences? ONLY at Wal-mart and Lowes. All the times.
  • I have nothing but trouble at Wal-Mart. Big surprise! They'll hire anyone who can push a button. On a very rare occasion I'll get in line and have a nice friendly person check me. But mostly I get some young punk or "white trash" with an attitude checking me. Even the sales people on the floor are rude. I worked in retail for 5 years and I know what customer service is. Wal-Mart has no idea what customer service is. You can tell by the people they hire.
  • What I really hate is when a cashier stands there whining and complaining about their job, their boss, another employee, etc. the entire time as I come through the line and check out. Just shut and do your job or quit, it's not that complicated.
  • I took on a second job as a cashier at a 7-11 years ago. Talk about horror stories with the general public! I almost lost my faith in humanity working that job. I'll tell you what, the pressure of a kitchen that does 500 a night doesn't even compare to what a cashier puts up with.Especially someone who is a fairly intelligent human being that has to put up with people that have the intellect of squirrels. LOL is it obvious a second job I had 20 years ago still ticks me off? But yeah, I agree. Most cashiers can't do basic math nowadays and it seems they are not very customer oriented. It seems for most of them it's more like a chore than a job.
