  • I'm not sure that IQ has anything to do with it.
  • Well, I don't know. But I wouldn't really trust any polls on the matter, because with such a touchy subject, they would likely be biased. Also, like Da ben dan said, I don't really think it matters. It wouldn't prove that either group is right or wrong. Einstein was a Deist, Stephen Hawkins is an agnostic, and Isaac Newton was a Protestant. All very intelligent men, but they can't all be right, now can they?
  • I would say it's the couple who chose to spend Sunday having a picnic in their favorite spot. They're the smartest.
  • I do know that according to statistics those with a higher level of education tend to believe in God less than those with less education. Please don't take this to mean that I think those who believe in God are less intelligent. It is just a statistical correlation that may have some insight into IQ and belief, but not necessarily. "Of 43 studies carried out since 1927 on the relationship between religious belief and one's intelligence and/or educational level, all but four found an inverse connection. That is, the higher one's intelligence or education level, the less one is likely to be religious or hold "beliefs" of any kind." Bell, Paul. "Would you believe it?" • (1) The theist are those who belive in God as a creator of this Universe and its maintenance.A person who goes deeper in any type of creation in the universe will come to the conclusion that there is a systematic order in the universe, so there must be a intelligent design in the act of universe. So there must be a intelligent designer behind this Universe. This is the reason the great scientists are believing in the God, because they have discovered some mysteries of the universe,eg. :Physicist Albert Einstine, Physicist Werner Hisenberg,Physicist Ervin Schrodinger, Physicist Max Born, Physicist Nichola tesla,Physicist Vikram Sarabhai,Missile Scientist Dr. Abdul Kalam,Astrophysicist Jayant Narlikar,Mathematician & Cosmologist Roger Penrose,Physicist Charles Towens(Inventor of Maser and Laser), Astrophysicist Subramanyam Chandrashekhar and so on... This means that any body, who does deep thinking, will in the end arrive at such point that some intelligent power is governing this vast universe from macro levels like Super clusters of galaxies to micro level Quark and other sub atomic particles. (2) Every where there is a law, we live in the law, lived by the laws( not governmental law,but scientific laws). our sitting ,standing walking speaking , breathing, swimming ,working , playing ,in short every action is governed by some kind of Physical, Biological, chemical and other kind of laws. Like how we keep balance ?, here mechanics comes into picture, when we swim than law principle of buoyancy comes into picture, when we speak than Physics of Sound, Physiology Laws act here., When we eat some chemical laws come into picture.Like wise n number of laws are playing the vital role into each action in and around us. So the question arise who makes this unbroken laws ? How has those laws come into being? As any person or a group of persons has formulated these laws ? How is it maintained ? These laws have been working for billions of years, and man is utilising is intellect to discover them. The laws which are to be found by human being are surely not formulated by human race. And other Species have no such creative and productive power to formulate such complicated laws. than who has Formulated them? If someone says, 'it is formulated by nature', than the question is whether the nature is thinking being or nonthinking being ? if it is a thinking being than to such nature we call God. God is not any Person like being . It is Supreme, intelligent, governing, almighty power. God is a Power, but it is a controlling power, governing power,to that power we call God. That intelligent power is come into picture if a person think deeply into the subject. My point is that any body who has deep thinking aptitude will definitely belive in the God. It doesn't mean that, non believer have not deep thinking faculty, they have it but due to some reasons their thinking is diverted to some conditioned views, and some time they might be reacting to the present religious beliefs and rituals, that reactions divert their thinking, or stop their thinking to go deeper. There are other reasons also why their thinking are conditioned, all reasons cannot be described here due to space, otherwise answer would be much longer. But their deep thinking faculty is diverted due to some reasons. If non believer think deeply unconditionally, they will definitely come to the conclusion that some intelligent designer is behind the universe. So my view is any deep thinking person would be beliver or non beliver, the difference is whether they are thinking conditionally or unconditionally.
  • I for a fact know that the more education a person has, the less likely they are to believe in God. I don't think that IQ has anything to do with it though. IQ tests don't generally test on science and reality.....and that is the basis of being an atheist....REALITY!
  • I'm not gonna say nottin', I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the show while smoking a cigar and drinking a beer...he he he... EDIT: ROFLMFAAO! Check out Amit's answer! BWAAAA HAAAA
  • Of the top scientists in the country (National Academy of Sciences), 7% believe in a personal God (5% in biological sciences). 39/43 studies (since 1927) show as I.Q. decreases, religiosity increases. The U.S. was the first fully-secular nation, it now has the most advanced technologies and educational facilities in the world, and youngest among the industrial democracies.
