  • Dang....wish I knew...I haven't even started it for real yet...and at 49...I'm READY TO!!!!! Points for your question...hope WE get an answer soon, but I suspect as random as the freaking thing IS...at least with all of my friends who ARE in the midst of it...I would venture to guess it's a crap shoot and starts and stops when it is good and damn well ready to.... My prayer? Dear Lord....I'm 49, a lesbian and diabetic...I DON'T THINK I'll be using these eggs at all...magic 8 ball says NO! I realize that you designed us all perfectly to function and be self preserving and I realize that THOSE hormones DO PROVIDE some benefits for staving off cancers of some types, heart disease and keep my skin more supple and less wrinkled....BUT really...I'm OVER IT NOW and it's ok with me if it just GOES AWAY!!!! Thankfully and humbled by your love and glory....Please let Aunt FLO go visit some other deserving woman...I want to buy a real horse, not ride the cotton pony every month any more!
  • The thing is, doctors say it may last two years, five years, ten years. It may be lifelong. OMG, I hope not.
  • every woman is different, there is no rule of thumb ( it totally depends on Mother Nature) I am 46 and have been in premenopause for 5 years and while my estrogen level is dropping my doctor guesses I have several years to be all done. It's a long hard wait because I want it to be done 3 years ago. Typically most women are done by their early 50's but that's not carved in stone.... just an average, ya just got to hang in there. Just like waiting for our first periods to come was difficult when we were young, waiting for that last one to happen is very difficult when we're older.
