  • Unmixed, you probably can -- in fact, the alcohol would probably act as a disinfectant. But, I guarantee you that you will be very, very sorry if you do: it will sting like a wasp has lot its temper and moved in permanently!
  • I'm not sure what exactly was meant by this question. Are you wondering whether or not you can drink alcohol before you get your tongue pierced or afterward? Either way, though, the answer is the same: No! Here's Why: Before: If you drink before getting the piercing, then it will cause your tongue to bleed when it otherwise would not. This, for obvious reasons is not good. If you are thinking of getting drunk beforehand because you are afraid of the piercing being painful, then rest assured because getting your tongue pierced is actually one of the least painful piercings. I just got my tongue pierced about a week and a half ago and, although unpleasant, it wasn't actually that bad. After: Drinking after getting the piercing done is not a good idea either. Although alcohol can sometime serve as an anesthetic, it would sting like hell and would probably irritate the piercing site. Not to mention the fact that you would still need to use mouthwash to disinfect your mouth after drinking.
  • I would totally disagree with the answer before that this could help a new pierce - you shouldn't drink alcohol until at least 5 days after the piercing. Alcohol kills bacteria in your mouth, including the good ones needed for the healing process. Alcohol also thins the blood so if your piercing bleeds it may not clot properly, it can in some cases also be the cause of excessive bleeding. This also applies to mouthwashes containing alcohol (ie Listerine) If you insist on using Listerine dilute it and limit yourself to 2 rinses a day.
  • only if ya wanna leak and spit everywhere
  • If you got you`re tongue pirced by a pro then he/she shold of toled you that you shold take anibiotics for 2-7 days. DO NOT DRINK WHEN YOU ARE TAKING ANIBIOTICS!
  • I did this and I got really drunk...since you have an open wound in your mouth, the alcohol will enter your blood stream through the wound. I would suggest not drinking, but if you do I would stick to "clean" alcohols like vodka gin etc NOt Beer
  • i will let you all know tomorrow when i get mine done and drink cpt.morgan like a fish
  • I just got my tongue pierced on saturday and drank vodka mixed with stuff that night. I was fine. It bled very little for about 5 seconds but other than that no problems. No stinging or anything like that. As long as you dont drink beer, you should be fine.
  • the answer to ur question is NO... If you do drink, choose low alcohol beverages such as beer or cider. Any drink with more than 10% alcohol is likely to hurt and will impair the healing process.
  • well i was planning on getting my tongue pierced despite the fact I believe I may have Keloid skin. And then I was gonna go drinking that same night but after these answers I don't think I'm gonna get it that day. Maybe a couple of days after. Thanks
  • yea i did the next day, alot of vodka and then the pain went away cause i was plastered
  • You CAN, but it's a bad idea. If nothing else, it'd hurt like anything. Alcohol in an open wound isn't exactly comfortable.
  • You can do whatever you want, it's YOUR tongue!
  • i drank before, during, and after, alcohol won't hurt anyting, but of course some will say different.
  • Unless they stapled your mouth shut I don't see why not yo...
  • I wouldn't-- alcohol thins the blood and could make you bleed much more than you would normally.
  • no dont it hurt like hell
  • you can but if your drunk they cant, they arent allowed to pierce or tattoo you cause your under the influence and your blood is thinner so you bleed more, same with pain meds
  • I did after I got mine pierced and it was fine. Probably not the best idea, but whatever.
  • NO DONT IT HURTS LIKE HELL
  • before or after? after your not supposed to, it makes the tounge swell more and can cause infection easier. before is a bad idea too, because the blood is thinner and if your to drunk the piercher may not even want to do it.
  • NO! As with any piercing it is an open wound! Drinking alcohol can increase your risk of a yeast infection. Any substantial piercer will oppose this idea. You have to remember that piercings are more than decoration, they are a serious modification to your body and you must allow time and care for them to heal properly
  • no drink listerineinstead. its good for your tongue and will get u drunk for those who are going to DR me im being sarcastic
  • well when i got mine pierced it bled for maybe 6 hours and bled ALOT so i wouldnt have drank right after
  • You're not supposed to. A friend of mine did anyway and her tounge swelled up to the point where she could barely close her mouth. She had to take the tounge ring out. So, I wouldn't.
  • No! Absolutely not. Not unless you want to openly nivite a yeat infection into your mouth, that is.
  • you can't drink beer because of the yeast but you're allowed to drink liquor. =]
  • i had my pierced 5 days ago and i have had a load of twister ice lollies and have only a little bit of swelling and it only hurt for one day!! my advice is don't drink alcohol as my friend did and had to have it taken out!! you only have to wait 2 wks anyway!! think of the money you will save in those 2 wks!! you can use it to do a bar crawl or sumfin!? lol
  • No beer, No wine, Yes on anything non-colored and above 80 proof. No artificial sweetners or coloring. In this way it'll actually be keeping it cleaner. Try vodka or everclear. (this is from my husbands experience) Just don't drink and drive. Underage drinking is also not reccomended. Peace.
  • I have my tongue pierced and i drank alcohol the same day i didnt have any problems after. However i wouldnt suggest that someone got drunk and then got their tongue pierced because alcohol thins out the blood which will cause bleeding when it wouldnt if you wouldnt have drank before.
  • i drank alcohol the first day i got it, nothing really happened. but i still wouldn't recomment it.
