  • Christmas is (or at least started out as) a religious holiday for Christians. Celebrating the holiday has nothing to do with which country someone is in. So, to answer the question: Yes, some. Anyone can celebrate regardless of their global location or ethnic history.
  • Yes they do. Christmas is not exclusive to anyone or anyplace. Edit - China attracts people from all over the world and celebrations of Christmas may not mean shop ‘til you drop or drink yourself into oblivion but they do celebrate the occasion in some areas of mainland China. Christianity has grown significantly within the People's Republic. It is still, however, tightly controlled by government authorities. For example, Catholic churches on the mainland and other Christian churches (government approved) could not delete Christ from Christmas, no matter what country they're in. When Pope John Paul II died in 2005, churches throughout China held special services to commemorate and mourn his passing. Many Chinese Catholics, often with no awareness of any political implications, declared that they would have liked him to visit China, as he indicated was his desire. Perhaps the Chinese celebrate Christmas as it should be celebrated with a joyful remembrance of Christ’s birth rather than all the commercialism of the west.
