http://www.answerbag.com/q_view.php/16690 My Dad is, My Dad. & I am his Son. Therefore I call him my Dad. I have a Son, He may also have a son. My Dad is not My sons Dad. though he IS my brothers Dad also. Family Relations extend beyond death...& extend on throughout eternity. Just because My Dads dad is dead, doesn't mean he ceases to be my Dads dad. I only Honour My FATHER, I want to achieve what he wants me to achieve eg: 'ETERNAL-LIFE & HAPPINESS.'

If you look at this doctirne from an eternal perspective, no Heavenly Father can catch up with his Heavenly Father, and none can equal the first. There is no "official statements" in respect to this.

In my opinion, the teachings of the Latter Day Saints conflicts with the Bible, which according to them is among their scriptures. The Mormons say that "God has a body that looks like yours" (http://www.mormon.org/mormonorg/eng/basic-beliefs/the-restoration-of-truth/god-is-your-loving-heavenly-father), and that "God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, compiled by Joseph Fielding Smith, p 345), and that "there never was a time when there were not Gods and worlds, and when men were not passing through the same ordeals that we are now passing through. That course has been from all eternity, and it is and will be to all eternity" (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, 7:333-334). So basically, Mormons are saying that God was a man, is now a glorified man or god, and we can one day be a god like him through our eternal progression. The Bible on the other hand, says "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man" (Romans 1:22-23), and "For I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you." (Hosea 11:9), and "God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind." (Numbers 23:19) and God Himself says in the Bible "...you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face." (Psalm 50:21), and "I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God....Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one." (Isaiah 44:6,8), and "To whom will ye liken me?" (Isaiah 40:25).
