  • Only if the boat is wooden. Otherwise, I'd stick with a more dull color.
  • I think red is a great boat color. We've always wanted a red canoe and I've seen America's Cup boats that were red and looked great. Many speed boat are red, we had a Miller Vee that was red inside and out. Any size, great color! Though I do love deep blue for a sailboat.
  • YES. i base my answer not on the fact i know about boats etc. but that i like red...
  • Yes I think it would suit it! :)
  • It is generally agreed that it is Bad Luck to paint a boat in the colors of the sea. Thus blue, aqua, and various shades of blue/green are to be avoided. As far as I can tell, red is about as far away from the colors of the sea as you can get. Bon Chance and Bon Voyage.
  • Why not? Red is as good as any, though a couple of thoughts come to mind. If you are in a hot part of the world, darker colours will capture more heat from the sun and make it hotter inside the hull. Hence you see a lot of White :-)
  • White or a light colour that does not absorb heat and can easily be seen in case of a search and rescue operation. [Edit] Oh, I see my answer to "What is a good clour to paint a boat?" has been re-assigned. OK. Red paints usually fade to pink. So be careful.
  • ANYTHING that--because of its contrast with the water & sky--make your boat visible is a good thing. Beware, though: blue/UV light more readilly, so count on having to renew the paint more often.
