  • Definitely. It's filled up the jails and wasted tax dollars. Why should the gov't be allowed to tell us what we should and shouldn't put into our bodies.
  • Any campaign starting with the word ‘war’ is destined to failure. War on terrorism War on poverty …..and so on.
  • Of course. Whose surrender would mark the end of the war? What has to be done for victory to be declared? Not only is the WoT a failure, it is the biggest cause if drug use there is, because of the fantastic profits it creates for dealers. Capitalism works - more money = more supply.
  • I would say yes it is a failure and will always fail. People like drugs and someone somewhere will find a way to keep making them.
  • The War on Drugs was yet another in a long line of feel good legislations that did nothing to improve the lives of American citizens. In this way it is much like Gun Control.
  • I don't know that it's a failure so much as a waste of time.....
  • No, but it could be improved some.
  • Hi, gave you 1 pt i.e. 20 to 21 pts. I think they should still have illicit drugs as illegal. However, as you probably are aware the satanic wise users just see their doctor to get medical marijuana(250 outlets in Los Angeles) or other purer prescriptions of painkillers than are available on the street. Personaly, I'm afraid to even take an aspirin. But my quite convinced lots of the coworkers I work with are on steroids and other legally prescribed painkillers. It may not make a difference to anyone else to stay away from drugs & alcohol. But it makes a difference to me. Hope that answers your question. I dont think the war on drugs is a failure because illegal drugs do kill people & it helps to deter the selling to kids at schools etc. The older a person is before experimenting with drugs. The less likely they will becomes an addict & destroy the quality of other peoples lives.
  • It doesn't seem to be working..so I'd have to say "yes"
  • Yes. What a waste of manpower and money. Legalize now!
  • Oh yeah! Like twenty yrs ago. Now when I hear about a big drug bust, it communicates how thoroughly the war was lost. It's like an iceberg. The authorities catch less than 10% of the drugs. The bigger the bust, the more they missed.
  • Americans really are curious creatures, you start a real war that is morally objectionable, then use another kind of 'war' to distract people. Have you ever just considered 'putting an end' to something? How very warlike you all are. Yes, by the way. Almost forgot to answer.
  • It can only be compared with another 3 wars: The Viet Nam War, the Iraq War and the War on Terror
  • It's not a failure. It just hasn't done what it was initially intended to do or what the public expects it to do. It was originally supposed to rid our country and eventually the world of all drugs but it proved to be too difficult. It is now an effort to suppress the sale and use of drugs as much as we can. There has been a lot of advancement against drugs.
  • We won the war on drugs! That's why President Bush Appointed the Drug Zar, To be King of all the drugs... or was that King of the Druggies. Look around! Its great! No Drugs to be found, ANYWHERE! Hooray! Victory!... (Politicians really are total sacks of human SH##)+3 A rising good Q!
  • well its not too much of a war seeing as how the government is on both sides of it
  • No, the people who believe that the government is actually trying to STOP drug trafficking are failures!
  • No. It's created a stream of revenue to fund CIA black ops, it's led to an expansion of police powers, and it's 'cleaned up' our streets by putting users in jail. It's just what the government wanted really. In a word, Mena (Arkansas).
