Question

My friend and his wife are pregnant but seperated. She has told him that he's not allowed to dr's appointments for ultra sounds and she even said she doesn't want him at the birth. Can she legally keep him away before the baby is born?

Until a child is born the father has practically no rights. The wife is entitled to privacy and doctor/patient confidentiality, and therefore, can deny the husband.

I am really sorry about your friend and his wife and I hope that they can come to some amicable arrangement before the baby is born.

Legally I don't think they can force the mother to have the father of the baby there at appointments or the birth.

He may have to wait until the baby is born.
