You're reading I hear about immigration being open to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. I also hear that Canada is probably one of the best destinations. Is it true and why is it so?

I agree. There is specific criteria and a waiting list for immigration to Canada.
Simply because it has been rated as the best country in which to live on many dimensions, including security, standard of living, universal health care, and freedom of speech, religion, sexual orientation...others too.
