  • Mandela derives from the Hindu language meaning 'concentric energy circle.' A circle represents protection, good luck, or completion. Mandalas are linked with sacred geometry, psychology and healing. Mandalas are a variation of the dance shield used by the Plains Indians, influenced by the herders of the West. It was thought to bring its owner good luck, prosperity, wealth, and happiness. Mandala dance is a dance of Peace. The "Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara" is a practice of Empowerment and Blessing. The music is moving and meditative. Based on an ancient Tibetan practice of praising and embodying the Great Goddess Tara, the Mother of Compassion and Wisdom, the dance has been taught and offered as a prayer to communities worldwide. His Holiness the Dalai Lama and many Great Lamas of all the lineages of Tibetan Buddhism have given their blessing and offered their prayers that this dance be shared as widely as possible.
