these are traits of the Authoritarian personality. I gather that's the personality type most likely to view fascism in a favorable light.
Conventionalism - Rigid adherence to conventional, middle-class values
Authoritarian submission - Submissive, uncritical attitude toward idealized moral authorities of the in-group
Authoritarian aggression - Tendency to be on the lookout for, and to condemn, reject, and punish people who violate conventional values
Anti-intraception - Opposition to the subjective, the imaginative, the tender-minded
Superstition and stereotypy - the belief in mystical determinants of the individual's fate; the disposition to think in rigid categories
Power and 'toughness' - Preoccupation with the dominance-submission, strong-weak, leader-follower dimension; identification with power figures;
overemphasis upon the conventionalized attributes of the ego; exaggerated assertion of strength and toughness
Destructiveness and cynicism - Generalized hostility, vilification of the human
Projectivity - The disposition to believe that wild and dangerous things go on in the world; the projection of unconscious emotional impulses
Sex - Exaggerated concern with sexual 'goings-on'

From what I've read here and there, individuals predisposed to fascism generally have low self-esteem, are less intelligent than the average person, and are suspicious of other races and/or nationalities, who they see as responsible for the nation's socioeconomic woes. They also tend to believe that whoever seizes political power by force and aggression deserves to be in power. Never question authority! It's that whole "might is right" never-mind-that-it-may-be-totally-wrong attitude that scares me. Can’t think for themselves or have opinions that deviate from the party line. If that ever happened, it wouldn’t be the party's line that might be in question, it would be the individual’s thinking.
No. As with just about everything in life, people become who they are through a complex process arising from their personal experiences, the things they have learned, and the people they meet. The sum product of thousands of these interactions becomes our character. Character traits may arise from many sources or, perhaps, just one or two significant ones. What is significant to one have no meaning to the person at their side. Since we are all somewhat different, the outcome is never exactly the same for any two people. For example, a glimpse of extreme poverty that lasted for only a few minutes of my childhood has remained with me and helped form my outlook today.
In my opinion, no. That's assuming I understood your question correctly.

I think you make an excellent point. I makes sense that a person like the one you describes will be attracted to and embrace fascism. It's a strength in numbers kink of mentality. If my group is more powerful than your group I will be seen as more powerful. Something like that. And would it kill you to e-mail me. lol ;)
