    I firmly believe any claim of temporary insainity pleas of any kind are excuses. Someone who has truly hit their mental limit would not do such things would do them in private. When abuse like she claimed had been happening for years the chances of her reaching that limit without a witness (even a child) would be one in a million.

    When the insanity defense was first proposed in English law it was only for people whose minds were so far gone there was little difference between their reasoning power and that of "a brute beast," as the law said at the time. Because of classical liberalism, which falsely blames the environment for the evil that men do and thinks that improving the environment can perfect mankind, the insanity defense has been expanded and extended to the point of, well, insanity. At least 90% of the people who plead insanity, and 99% of those who plead temporary insanity, should be hanged, shot or electrocuted.
