Bantams in my opinion make great pets.
I raised chickens but never considered one a pet, so I am gonna have to say no.
No. I'd feel bad about eating its offspring.
no but if you were slap it in a breadcrumb coating and deep fry it, chuck in some fries and a coke, I would give you $9.99 !
Probably not. They are not very cuddly...I can't see having one nestle on my lap as I stroke its feathers. :)
no, they're creepy, bloodthirsty and can smell your fear of them. They won't hesitate to claw your eyes out. DO NOT PET.
but they're pretty stupid, so as long as you don't smell of food or attempt to pet them, they'll leave you alone.
Eggs taste good, though.
I've raised all kinds of animals and NO, chickens don't make good pets. They are nasty creatures that will kill each other when given the chance and they don't particularly like people. Ducks on the other hand are very well behaved, much cleaner, and enjoy human company and they're a gas to watch playing in the water.
I've had chickens as pets as did my dad when he was a kid. But I never let my pet chickens eat off my plate like he let his pets lol!!! Chickens can be lots of fun as a pet. And then can give you eggs and raise more chickens for you:-)
No. Not a male chicken, they will "cuckoo" non stop even when i am awake alreay!
A female one maybe but very unlikely because i don't ha ve a garden for it to run around.
But if it means saving them(females only) then i won't mind. At least the females can make eggs.
nope we keep r chickens to fatten up then slaughter. we do keep a few alive for the eggs
No. They make way too much noise. Plus, I love to eat chicken too much to have one as a pet.
I've had chickens as pets...Not the kind you go out and play fetch with etc...but yeah.
I have a rooster that makes for an excellent pet.
Only I am afraid its life term may rather be short.
The rest of the chicken are part of our life same as the cows.
No
I had 4 once
No. They are smelly and poo too much. Very dirty.
No i used to have one an they are messy as hell.
yes, my cousins have a few. plus you get a few eggs out of it too!
People have ducks as pets so why not a chicken.
only if youre a vegetarian, its very hard once youre out of the house, and people everywhere are eating your pet!!!
and indeed, personally speaking, it would be a horrible choice if youre giving it to your children as pet, pets are friends, and friends are 'for' each others, what values would the children learn if you give them chicken as pet, they grow together, had fun, then the fate? used, dumped, killed and eaten! too trumatic!
I am scared of chickens..I would jump from a cliff if one came on me
1 chicken might, 2 chickens would be pets...
I have ducks and chickens...they make great pets and are really fun to watch interact with each other. No shortage of eggs, either.
Far in the backyard so when I feel like chasing a chicken I can get it out of my system
