  • In tennessee, its called bigamy and its still the law here. most states have the same bigamy law. its a minor felony and a warrant can be issued. you apparently did not know this when you married this person. i would at least talk to a lawyer in your state. it should be a freeby.
  • Actually, he committed a crime by marrying you while married to someone else so your marriage is invalid. No annulment is necessary.
  • Were you married in Virginia, or in Texas? You could probably just walk, and no questions asked. You should call the District Attorney and ask him or his deputy. I imagine that you might have to report to the County authorities that you are ending the non-marriage. If you do, your non-husband goes to jail for bigamy, and you walk.
