  • Unplug (then re-plug) the controller. Might work.
  • ps2? do u mean ps3? 'cos i've never had to set a time zone on my ps2... : )
  • I just had exactly the same problem. I had a wireless Guitar Hero controller plugged into the PS2, and the Time Zone would scroll continuously and wouldn't allow me to make a choice or go any farther. I powered down the unit, removed the wireless controller, plugged the hand controller into port 1, powered up, and then I was able to complete the user preferences. The PS2 either doesn't like the wireless controller until User preferences have been set, or my wireless router was interfering. Either way, once I got through user preferences, I was able to plug the wireless controller back in and continue. Don't forget to power down the unit when unplugging and plugging in the controllers.
