  • Hormonal birth control pills can do things like that. My wife is talking about going off her pills because the side effects just aren't worth it. PS: She's been on them about 3 months now. I've heard it takes 2 months to get used to them but she just hasn't.
  • Could be. BC pills are hormone pills, after all. If symptoms continue, ask your dr for different BC pills. Lot of diff ones available because everyone's sensitivities are different.
  • I've never taken a birth control pill in my life - well, I wouldn't would I, as a man? But that doesn't stop me from crying at sad movies, happy movies and life in general. As long as you're not sobbing uncontrollably I wouldn't worry.
  • Yes, it can be the birth control pills. My ex-husband threw them out because he felt it changed my mood for the worse. I can't thank him enough for doing this. I never got used to them.
  • I once began a new bc pill and was very much the same way. My doctor just changed the prescription and I was perfectly fine. You may just need a lower dose.
  • it was a side effect for me on hormonal birth control & while your body will adjust to some degree, i wouldn't expect it to completely go away. it didn't for me.
  • I was on birth control pills for two years, and during the last year became increasingly depressed, anxious and unhappy. It took me the longest time to realize that I wasn't myself, and that these feelings didn't seem to have a cause that was rooted in anything that was going on in my life. I don't have a history of depression and have always been a relatively cheerful person. I went off the pill and it changed my LIFE. I feel like I am myself again after a long period of useless, free-floating melancholy. I never, ever want to mess with my body by taking hormones again. Looking back, fooling your body into thinking it is perpetually pregnant is a messed-up thing to do. Also, my sex drive was GONE before, and it's come roaring back in the last two months off the pill. 'Minor' side effects are not 'Minor' if they're ruining your mood 24/7. If you think about it, your mood is your life!
  • Every bc pill is different in the amount of hormones and what types it gives you also how your body reacts. It can take a few tries to get the one thats right for you, try what your on for two to six months and if you still can't handle the side effects of it try another its worth it, I had to try a few before i got one that didn't make me cry and have my boobs hurt horribly... just hang in there!
  • While many women take birth control pills without incident, these drugs can produce side effects, especially when a woman's body adjusts to the hormonal changes they cause. Here is a list of the most common side effects of birth control pills: beeding or spotting between menstrual cycles nausea tender breasts gaining weight or retaining water darkened spots on the skin moodiness These symptoms should ease within two or three cycles. If they don't, talk with your doctor.
  • i just started the pill and ive been so emotional its crazy. i cry every day at the smallest things. ive also been suffering all the other side effects.
  • From my experience, yes it is....I acutally was like this before I used the pill, but then it stopped after a few months...You will have ups and downs, as a result of the new 'chemicals' that are going into your body that you arenot use to...So yeh hang in there!
  • I would say that it could be down to your pill. It depends how long you have been on it for. I had that problem and i thought it was because i had just started it. However 9 months on, im still crying, getting annoyed/wound up very easily. I didnt believe it was the pill, but now i have changed it, i feel alot more calmer!!! im not arguing with ppl quit so much! ha
  • it depends on how long you have been on it if you have just started it your body could just be adjusting to it.
  • yes as your body adjust more to the pill it will go away.
