I decided to post this here as well so that everyone could respond to it. I originally posted this as a comment.

Many non-Christians try to use "not judging" against us. They use this to say that we cant judge them for being gay and other things. They use it to ratioalize thieir sin. They can do whatever they want to because we cant judge them.

I think what God is saying by telling us that we should not judge, is that we should not, but He can. For example, in the above and other passages, Pharasees were using tradition to make judgemenets.

But if we use God's word and let God judge, then we are fine saying that being gay is wrong because its God that already said its wrong and therefore judged them, not us.

"Stop judging, that you may not be judged." (Matthew 7:1)

This is followed by "You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:5)

Put together this is not a prohibition against recognizing the faults of others, but against passing judgment in a spirit of arrogance while forgeting one's own faults.

    With love in Christ.

  • That judgmental fundamentalists should keep their freaking hypocritical mouths shut, and let God do the judging.
