  • Most likely because it was too extreme, most kids didn't find the humor funny, and it showed how ignorant some people really are. I, however, thought the show was very funny and smart. I'd very much like to see more of Johen Vasquez' work.
  • It would be hard to find a 100% reason as to why the show was canceled, but... It was partially Jhonen's idea to cancel it, and partially Nickelodeon's. The show was waaay too much work for the people who were doing it. It took up all their time and they'd end up staying at the studio overnight many times. It wasn't too dark (Nickelodeon had approached Jhonen to make a children's show while knowing fully of his comics, after all), but it didn't appeal to many kids under the age of 13. The target audience was meant to be much younger. Moving it to Nick's teen spot didn't help. Still, people believe it to have been because of the violence and gore. You gotta admit, harvesting kids' organs could be pretty nasty to people without a strange sense of humor, though that particular episode was very early in the show's run. Heck, the second episode had another kid getting his eyes ripped out, falling off a roof and exploding. The show would have been gone much sooner had these kinds of things been the problem (though the crew has said themselves that nobody was really paying attention to them yet). People have credited 9/11 to being part of the show's cancellation. One episode that came out around that point in time had scene in a destroyed city with the Statue of Liberty in the background. The crew changed it to something less realistic as was requested by Nick, though the original scene with the statue was initially aired. THAT was entirely Nick's fault.
