  • I’m sure there are many reasons but here’s a few. Basically the USA can do anything it wishes to do. The Patriot Act makes it possible especially in time of war for the USA to do anything it wants to do with legal/non-legal immigrants. At the hands of a dictatorship anything is possible. Even guilt by association can get a person deported/banned from the USA. God help anyone with an Arabic sounding name. People have been led to believe that all Arabs are Muslim, which is not true. Of course it's also true that not all terrorists are Arabic or Muslim. Not only those with Arabic sounding names but anyone at all the US thinks is not acceptable is banned. In many cases a crime isn't even committed by those who are banned but for the accused and convicted even their husbands/wives can also be banned. That’s true even if those banned have children born in the USA. -------------------------------------- Congress passed an amendment to immigration law in 1996 mandating that non-citizens convicted of aggravated felonies and sentenced to at least one year of prison be deported, regardless of the length of their residences. The law also expanded the definition of an aggravated felony to include petty crimes such as shoplifting. In 2002, for petty crimes a family could bail someone out of jail but a few months later, the law changed. No bail for non-citizens. Many foreign journalists are banned from US because they show the REAL photos and stories of Iraq and what is happening there. The current administration doesn't want any of that known to the American public. In the early 21st century, most notably following September 11 and the ensuing War on Terror, invasions of privacy, intrusive inspections, and questionable detentions under the USA PATRIOT Act, as well as allegations of torture at prisons in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantánamo Bay represent predominant issues. The United States had a good ranking in the world press freedom index that Reporters Without Borders announced on 20 October 2003 but came only 135th out of 166 countries when its attacks on press freedom in Iraq were measured. The US army targeted the media during its military operations there and was also involved in the killing of five journalists whose deaths it refuses to seriously investigate (see Iraq country report). http://www.rsf.org/article.php3?id_article=10003
  • I assume you are not an illegal immigrant. the day you were nationalized, you took an oath to obey all the laws of the united states. as a condition of becoming a united states citizen, you agreed that if you violated these laws, you would be banned or deported, from the united states. remember holding up your right hand and taking this oath? this is why foreigners are banned for seemingly simple crimes. there is no such thing as a simple crime. The united states has enough crime, committed by its natural-born citizens. america is a beautiful place to live. this is why you came, right? your answer is simple......either abide by the laws of the united states or get the hell out. america has enough crime without the help of outsiders.
