How much does adoption in the US cost on average? How about out of the US? REason i ask is my sister cant have kids but wants to adopt and not sure how much it will cost.CAn she adopt being single too?

Your sister might want to check with her local church or she could go to socialservice and ask them about adoptions.

If she is willing to adopt a foster child, it's completely free. If the child has any special needs, then there will also be medicaid and monthly subsidy payments until the child is 18... or older, depending on the circumstance. Special needs doesn't need to be a scary term, it can mean almost anything. If she adopted twins, they are automatically considered special needs, because it is more difficult to place siblings. A child 7 or older is automatically special needs because they are hard to place. The process takes just as long as waiting for a newborn, but it is a different process. Tell her to research foster adoption in her state.
