No. I either eat before boarding, pack a snack at home, or buy something from the vendors outside the gate. I can do that and not have to pay to have fish-or-chicken options on the plane. Drinks are nice, though, and I like getting a full can of Sprite.

It helps keep the cost down which is a good thing, and airline food tends to be rubbish anyway :-) I think its reasonable yes.

I always eat something on US flights, I don't know what you mean.

Yes. What other form of transport provides free food on short journeys, for base class passengers at least? The custom dates back to when flying was a rich-people-only pastime. In the days of cut-price tickets, it is not really relevant. Unless, of course, you decide otherwise. All you have to do is buy more expensive tickets on the so-called full-service airlines. If enough of you do that the airlines will take the hint. But people are voting with their wallets for no-fills airlines.

Yes, airlines are now no more than a bus service...except that most airlines are cheaper to travel on than buses...I worked for an airline for 31 years...no food is a blessing... I often thought for years..that the meal service was nothing but a diversion to give the passengers something to do enroute.

Yes.

Depends on the length of the flight. And you can always bring in your own food--as long as it isn't to "fragrant." People should consider their flight neighbors when they bring in pizza or other foods with strong odors.

I'm glad they don't serve refried beans at the beginning of coast to coast flights.
