The Backstreet Boys are more successful than Nsync for several reasons. Even though the voices of the bands and tunes are extremely similar the record sales point out which band has earned a higher total gross in total record sales. Nsync stopped singing together in 2002 while The Backstreet Boys, although a member short now that Kevin Richardson has left to persue other interests, keep singing together and have produced another new album "Unbreakable". Nsync started two years after The Backstreet Boys. So overall sales of records, albums, singles, and downloads point to Backstreet being the more successful pop band.

okay well now *NSYNC is not together anymore you may think the automatic answer is the backstrete boys but that is not true! there has always been a battle for who was there first but its pretty clear that *NSYNC smashed through the roof! first backstreet held the record for most albums sold in a day/week but when *NSYNC released their album they smashed those records! backstreet has put out more than double the amounts of albums than *NSYNC but *NSYNC has sold more than half of what Backstreet has which mean that they were more succesful! i love them both and dont mean to pick on backstreet but I think its almost a given! also *NSYNC was way more maketable that backstreet they had so much selling like board games, game boy gamses, dolls, hats, watches, hit clips, phones, etc.. while backstreet had some stuff like that *NSYNC had a lot more and they were promoted by things like McDonalds while Backstreet was promoted by Burger KIng and its pretty clear McDonalds is more Sucessful than Burger King! *NSYNC did a lot of commericla like one for Chilis, beer, anti-drug and more! I LOVE THEM BOTH BUT THE ANSWER IS *NSYNC! I rest my case
