  • I don't think I'd have an especially hard time dealing with it, in fact, I don't think it would really impact me at all. I'm more of a tea drinker myself.
  • NO... I would just switch to green tea... It kind of has the same affect on me... but if there was no green tea I think I would be fine... Running in the morning gives me an energy boost also...
  • I would probably die. Or get arrested for smuggling it in.
  • I hate the taste of coffee.. but i like the smell of it, its no big deal for me
  • It depends on whether you have your own stock pile of coffee or not. Then the question would be...... Sell it and make a vast fortune or just taunt all those poor desperate fools with the glorious smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Muhahahahahahahahha
  • I would become a law breaker, the impact would be massive for the people who know me!
  • 10 years ago, I might of had a real tuff time. But, just in the last few years, I've slacked off to about 2 cups a day. If it was gone tomorrow, I don't think it would bother me, (at least, not until those cold, cold winter mornings). I would just switch to tea, hot chocolate, or something else.
  • Yes I could handle no coffee , I can't drink much at all , one small cup only a day Hello Penny + 5
  • I think I could do without real coffee easier than I could do without coffee flavored things like ice cream:-) I assume those would still be available? I have ground up roasted chicory root and had that as my coffee. It works in a pinch:-)
  • Well, I go off caffeine periodically just to chill out my system, but I am a TRUE coffee lover so I would be extremely disappointed.
  • I love coffee , BUT , not to the point that I would be totally miserable and devistated if I couldn't drink it. There are so many really great teas available that I would probably enjoy maybe even more than coffee.
  • I'd cope. I get more of my daily intake from black tea anyway. I would miss the coffee though - how would I make tiramisu, what would happen to my Starbucks icecream, what about kahlua? I am a caffeine addict. Going without caffeine gives me a headache!
  • Figure out some way to make tea taste like coffee? I don't know! Good question though. + up
  • i dont drink much coffee so i could survive.. i much prefer hot chocolate or tea
  • It is a beverage. Not a way of life.
  • It wouldn't bother me. I don't drink coffee (or anything with caffeine, for that matter.)
  • TYes I could easily cope. The only time I drank coffee was when I use to get up at 3:00 am . Hot chocolate could easily replace coffee for me, no big impact.
  • I would be able to cope but I would not want to be in my husbands crew when that happened. Coffee is a food group for him:)
  • Triple strength green tea. Yay! +
  • It would not affect me much because I don't drink it. It might effect me because my parents love coffee.
  • i don't drink coffee, i drink tea... no worries here
  • NOOOO!!! now why would anyone want to take away one of my only pleasures in life? Next you'll be unplugging me from AnswerBag and taking away Booze and Pot! Then just shoot me!
  • I'm not human until I have my morning brew. I would start roasting any kind of beans to try and get my java juice. I heard that roasted soy beans have a similar taste, I would then mix in some No-doze for the caffeine.
  • I suffered a self-imposed coffee, tea, wine, beer, etc. ban when I converted to LDS four years ago. It was completely voluntary and has had little, if any, side effects other than an occasional craving, but they go away and I am left fairly undisturbed. As for my coffee drinking, I was a pro with an espresso maker and regular purchases of fresh Colombian beans that I ground when I needed a new pot. Besides my electric grinders, I also had an emergency hand grinder from the mid-east, made entirely of brass except for the steel grinding edges. Four pots before noon was my standard, and I kept drinking into the night. The brown-flavored water that the rest of the country besides New Orleans drinks was never in my cup because I took it jet black and as strong as it could be legally made. Then, overnight, no more coffee. No side effects except for no more incredible stomach burning and no weird circadian rhythm anymore.
  • Oh, dear Penny...please take those words back! I would not be able to cope until I found a worthy substitute and what that would be I'll never know. I can't stand my yearly physical for one reason only...I have to fast the night before and am not allowed my morning coffee until I get back from the exam..talk about being around a grumpy person! Jim does not look forward to the morning of that day..mutter mutter mutter. :(
  • My in-laws (a LONG time ago) gave up coffee to save money and then wondered why they were both suddenly constipated. That would be one unintended effect. Of course you could get your caffeine fix from tea, but you'd have to brew it stronger.
  • I must be one of the few people alive that can't stand coffee. (And, I have no constipation problem, thanks for asking.) ;-) So, it would have very little impact on me. I do enjoy a coffee-flavored ice cream treat on occasion.
  • hell ive got the shakes already just thinking about it!! gosh no, i couldnt miss my coffee, i need 2 cups in the morning just to focus!! i think i would go mad!!
  • nope, i'd just switch to green tea, it has 25% mre caffiene
  • I started drinking coffee at a wake, now I,m an addict
  • Yes I never drink coffee,it gives me a headache,Not a big impact on me at all
  • aaaaa! i'd freak out! i wouldn't know what to do? and tea, me, drink? never!
  • HUGE! Its just possible that I may go into some form of shock. Maybe even a breakdown of some kind in the middle of the street. Lots of rocking backwards and forwards, wailing and sobbing and then after several hours of this the sobs would gradually turn into silent tears flowing down my drawn, coffeeless features and ever so gently I would pick myself up of the floor and very gradually get on with my life. Safe in the knowledge that coffee will one day come back for me.
  • First of all, thank you for the nightmares. I would probably have to move to Columbia. At least if the ban on coffee reached to there I would have a ready supply of Coke.. (kidding! I think)
  • Well...for the record I do not like nor do I require coffee each day. I don't mind saying I have an occasional cup after dinner to top-off the meal. However.....there is a coffee addict within the walls of my humble abode and for this reason I would suffer greatly. The impact would be outrageous. Therefore the answer to "would I be able to cope?" is a big NO WAY!!!How far to Juan Valdez's casa? About the impact...I would make quite the greasy spot on the kitchen wall!!! Please someone tell me there is a heaven full of coffee that will last for an eternity!!!
  • OMG say it isn't so!!!!! Help Help Help....Cope who could cope...not me OMG not a ban on coffee. I need another espresso....Yes it would be a great impact on me and other people around me. :(
  • I'd make it through just fine. No impact at all - I think I've had 20 cups my whole life.
  • I will be right back, just going to check if the coffee pot is still standing in the kitchen at our office..... Ok I’m back, no, I won’t mind, tea has got caffeine in as well. It would have a big impact on other people though, nothing like a good cup of coffee to wake you up
  • I would be able to cope because I don't drink coffee.
  • I've pretty much given up coffee. It affects me more like a drug and one that I enjoyed abusing. I wallow in the occasional luxurious cup maybe 2-3 times a yr.
  • im a tea totaler?anyway i shake when i smell fresh roasted cofee, frenchroast im drooling, espresso and im vomitting from withdrawel!!!!i have not had a dop of drip in years(doctors orders)and still salivate at cofee houses.my life is miserable without that triple espresso shot or the sumatra house blends mmmmmmmm, this country ,a ban on cofee, lots of dead people,oh yeah lots of them, starting with my doctor.....
  • i could do without it- i am perimenopausal - it only makes the flashes hotter
  • WHAT? No coffee! Never, I would not be able to even roll out of bed without my coffee!
  • I would buy caffinated tea, and have at least four bags in my cup with a little cream and sugar, and I might later lose a bag.
  • What they are going to ban coffee ? omg it's the end of the world !!!! they cant do it !!!!! what will become of us !!!!!!1 This must just be a bad dream !!!!! AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!
  • I'd probably have a headache for a few days, but, life would go on...
  • Huge impact. I guess I would start buying more of those coffee drinks they sell in bottles. I would not be happy at all about that
  • can't let something control you that much. For me it would be like anything else, a day or two of headaches then I'm all set.
  • no coffee? Oh no! I would just switch to highly caffeninated drinks like Redbull or Monster. I am a caffeine addict, I admit it.
  • I wouldn't like it, but i wouldn't really care at the same time. Although going to Starbucks would be kind of weird...
  • coffee eck! but i do have to say i had to go buy a coffee pot for my friends...they cant even come and hang out for a few hours w/o their coffee...but it does smell wonderful but is just ecky ecky poo poo!
  • I probably would just pretend that the delicious lemonade that I was drinking is coffee. Because I am always drinking that stuff.
  • No since i found out i was pregnant there has been a personal ban on coffee for me at first i thought i would want it real bad (even though i didnt drink it much before) but it hasnt been to difficult and after i have the baby i think i will continue to stay away from coffee if i can maybe all thoes late nights up with the kid will make me turn back to it but for now i am ok without it
  • I would, coffee or caffeinated products do not affect me. I can drink a couple of cup and fall alseep 10 minutes later.
  • I don't do coffee...tea is more my thing.
  • Depends are we talking about all coffee like ice-Coffe. Cause then HELL yes i couldn't live without my ice-coffee. I wouldn't be able to survive **runs around the room screaming** please don't take my coffee away...**cries** so yes i culdn't live without coffee
  • I very good friend of mine that happens to be a movie script writer and producer is making a movie right now about this exact thing--a ban on coffee. It's the best script I've ever read, and I've read plenty. My answer? I'd cope just fine as I'm not addicted. But I would definitely question why it would have been banned in the first place. And what else would they ban? Everything with caffeine? If they banned tea, I'd revolt!
  • when I miss my coffee and feel that headache coming on, I turn to the next best thing, Excedrin. There is 60mg caffeine per pill, and it works very fast. I feel jittery with just one pill, and it gets me moving and hyperactive almost. But I would miss sipping coffee, I think I'm forming a real habit out of it.
  • Shhhhhhh. unthinkable! I don't necessarily need the caffeine but the ritual of my morning coffee is something i would never ever want to live without. I suppose if i had to I'd go with tea.
  • That would be very bad...i love coffee...i would have to get some and become a dealer
  • Yes I think so, not to mention Tea is just as awakening as coffee.
  • Yes. It would take a few weeks to recover. I guess I would become a tea lover.
  • I don't drink coffee
  • This is a cruel question to ask. I would survive, but I would not be happy. I would have to drink more tea and soda. It just wouldn't be the same.
  • We can't have that. You wouldn't like me without coffee.
  • i dont drink coffee, so it would affect me... its bad for your health and dehydrates you.
  • Oh, no! Please don't take my coffee! Don't you dare touch it or I'll have to hurt ya! Hahahahahahaaaa!! Seriously, I'd probably have to switch to drinking my diet soda in the morning. If I quit coffee cold turkey, I'd have terrible headaches. I only have a couple cups every morning, but they are pretty strong!
  • NO PROBLEM, I ALSO DRINK HOT TEA.
